We specialize in building medium to large injection tooling. Among the industries we serve are outdoor products, power tools, and off-road vehicles. Our projects frequently involve gas assisted injection tooling, and we have accumulated extensive experience over the years.

Most of tools we built were involved with new product development projects. We are very familiar with new product development requirements of Western companies. We can help with accessing manufacturability of new parts and providing input from tooling standpoint of view. We know timing is everything for new products. We deliver what we have promised.

Fast tooling or rapid tooling has recently become very popular among new product development communities. Traditionally, US or European customers pay premium for fast tooled parts. APL provides fast tooling service at very competitive cost and lead time – usually within 2 weeks. We use soft steel molds, which are capable of producing thousands of parts. Engineering changes are possible, because we can easily weld on steel. Because fast tools are run on regular molding machines, parts are injected parts, which possess normal mechanical strength. This is very important for mechanical testing during new product development cycle.

We operate presses from 90T to 500T including two-shot injection machines. Soft grip two-shot application in Power Tool industry is among our specialties. Knob insert molding is another application that we do well. Experience tells us that we are competitive in smaller component molding for Western customers. Even with additional freight to US or Europe, our cost is still competitive.

Sometimes, customers require small quantity production orders that large molding houses will not accept. Not us. We welcome these opportunities. We often see small quantity inquiries between new product first samples and full production – so called Bridge Production. As extension to new product tooling service, we gladly offer customers with bridge production service.
